A Holy Nation

Who are we supposed to be as the church that belongs to Jesus? In a world full of confusion about identity—both personal and spiritual—Scripture offers a clear and steady answer. In this sermon from 1 Peter 2:9–10, we are reminded that the church is not a building or merely a social organization. God defines His people as “a holy nation.” That description carries both privilege and responsibility.

This lesson traces the biblical theme of God working through a separated people, from Eden to Sinai and ultimately to the church today. Peter’s words call us to remember that holiness is not about superiority, but about being set apart by God for His purposes. As Christians, we live in the world, but we are not of it. We are distinguished not by geography, but by allegiance and conduct.

This sermon challenges us to reclaim our identity, live out our calling, and reflect God’s glory as His holy nation.
